Charlottesville, VA ─ Dolly Garnecki, B.A., D.C. of Charlottesville, VA and owner of Spinal Health & Wellness LLC has been chosen as this years’ recipient for the prestigious Outstanding Veteran-Owned Small Business award given by The SCORE Foundation. SCORE, (www.SCORE.org) mentors to America’s small business, serves over 375,000 clients annually and honors their most successful clients at The SCORE Foundation’s annual award ceremony. Spinal Health & Wellness LLC will be honored on Thursday, September 15^th at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington DC for demonstrating unique vision, innovation and achievement as an Outstanding Veteran-Owned Small Business.

Spinal Health & Wellness LLC is receiving this award out of hundreds of nominees based on their successful small business growth and community partnerships, and contribution to the community. They have demonstrated excellence, creativity and initiative in all they do. This award also recognizes individuals who have been an inspiration to others, both in their profession and in their efforts to make their region a better community.

A member of the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Unified Virginia Chiropractic Association, the American Chiropractic Association, CVille Sheblogs, and the American Pregnancy Association, Dr. Garnecki often presents keynote talks and workshops to a variety of organizations. She was a featured speaker on scoliosis screening protocols for over 100 doctors of chiropractic at the Unified Virginia Chiropractic Association’s 2010 spring convention, and taught an academic seminar on scoliosis treatment protocols to physicians in the Chinese Medical Rehabilitation Association in Shanghai, China.

Dr. Garnecki, a founding member, serves as co-chairwoman of CVille SheBlogs, a not-for-profit organization to support local women bloggers. She also volunteers her time to provide educational talks at businesses such as her Healthy Mama Workshop Series featuring topics such as making baby food from scratch, breastfeeding and posture, and nutrition consideration for mom and baby, and her Sweet Slumber Workshop at which participants learn how to prepare their body for a restful sleep, decreasing stiffness and pain associated with poor sleeping habits, and making better pillow choices.

In addition, since 2009 Dr. Garnecki and her team at Spinal Health & Wellness have assisted two local private schools (Charlottesville Catholic School and Covenant Lower School) by providing on-site scoliosis screenings. In January 2011, they provided complimentary care for over 200 elite athletes at the Superfit Games hosted by Crossfit Charlottesville.
