Local Scoliosis Expert, Dr. Dolly Garnecki, to Speak to Members of the Chinese Society of Medical Rehabilitation during a Multi-City Teaching Tour in China

Charlottesville, Virginia, USA, (June 8, 2011) – Dr. Dolly Garnecki, President of Spinal Health and Wellness based in Charlottesville, VA, USA, has been invited to present at the Annual Summer Conference of the Chinese Society of Medical Rehabilitation (CSMR) for medical doctors on June 26 and July 1-2, 2011. During a 10-day, multiple-city tour in China, Dr. Garnecki will educate doctors and other medical professionals on new Scoliosis treatment techniques.

In addition to her speaking engagements, Dr. Garnecki will work alongside doctors at the first non-surgical Scoliosis treatment clinic at Xin Hua hospital in Shanghai, China teaching them the latest treatment protocols in non-surgical intervention of Scoliosis.

Dr. Garnecki is passionate about advancing the care of Scoliosis patients globally in order to improve the lives of as many people as possible who suffer from the negative impact of Scoliosis. “The good news is that in many cases, scoliosis can be treated naturally,” said Dr. Garnecki. “I’m excited to teach other doctors who treat Scoliosis patients the advanced healing techniques to reduce Scoliosis curvature without the use of bracing or surgery,” she continued.

Scoliosis is a neuromuscular skeletal disease that results from the progressive rotation, compression, and lateral or side-ways bending of the spine. According to the National Scoliosis Foundation, Scoliosis reportedly affects 4.5 percent of the population, but recent numbers indicate as many as 20 to 30 percent of the population may have this condition. The current risk for Scoliosis is 23 out of every 1000 individuals. If left untreated, short and long-term physiological consequences can result. Some effects of Scoliosis include reduced life expectancy, stunted height growth, decreased pulmonary function, headaches, shortness of breath, digestive problems, chronic disease, and hip, knee and leg pain, and decreased self-esteem.
